Carizon Family and Children's Services

Carizon Family and Children Services, located in the Region of Waterloo, specializes in children’s mental health, youth engagement and development, family violence services, individual and family counselling, parental support and education, credit counselling, workplace resilience, settlement support and community wellness.   As a multi-service organization, Carizon provides support, therapy, and prevention programs. One of the programs offered at Carizon is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Program, a preventative and intervention service for children who may be experiencing mild to moderate social, emotional, and/or behavioural issues. 

CAP Consulting is currently working with Carizon to evaluate their EFT program. We are conducting pre- and post-test surveys with parents and children, randomly assigned to either 8-week or 15-week interventions, and we will be conducting interviews with a sub-sample of participants as well.  We helped the program in developing a program logic model, developed the design, and the measures, in close collaboration with program staff. The final report will be completed by November 2016.
